Whenever i meet someone and need to explain what it is i do, i start to smile awkwardly and babble more than i should. It would be much easier to say “I am a lawyer. Thanks for asking. What do you do?” But it does not work the same way when you say “I’m an entrepreneur”. No matter how confidently you say it or how proudly you push out your chest, you get greeted with a condescending response similar to “Yes, but what do you actually do?”.
The one option is to say “I am in I.T.” and hope they do not care to elaborate. The other option is to try and explain what is contained on this site before they lose interest or conclude that i am in fact unemployed and proud of it.
(ps. i am open for better responses that will help with the situation described above)
